Not to harp on about the Anna Nicole Smith thing, but there was a very good column yesterday in The Huffington Post talking about the fact that on the same day she died, which received saturation coverage on all the “so-called” news networks, with the same coterie of “experts” expounding on everything from her state of mind, to her choice of wardrobe… THREE US soldiers and ONE UK soldier died in Iraq with hardly a mention in any of the news media. I suppose it’s merely another glaring example of the “pop-culture” miasma we seem to be descending into at a rapidly accelerating pace. Best example would be the “Larry King Show” where he interviewed a “Life long friend” of Nicole’s, who it turned out had met her for fifteen minutes at a wedding. Bad enough that the programming is so awful. A recap of last weeks Super Bowl TV spots would demonstrate that the Ad Biz is leading the charge.

Yeah, I new Nicole... She walked by my cell in Texas!
