Pet Food Killers... For Real???

Am I the only one who finds it strange that a country which spends more on pet food than Africa and Asia spends on child nutrition, is now freaking out about the fact that millions of containers of dog and cat food are being recalled because they may… and I repeat…may… have caused kidney failure and even death to family pets. At the time of writing this post, there is absolutely no proof of a connection between the food and the unfortunate deaths of pets… But the point of the rant is… Why on earth does this news take precedence over Iraq, Afghanistan, Darfur and all the other terrible things taking place in the world on most of the major news networks? Making the situation even weirder is the fact that two of the major brands being recalled are Lams and Eukanuba… Not only advertised as far healthier for your pets, but also costing twice as much as the “ordinary” stuff, which probably won’t kill “Didums” or “Tigger.”

I don't need "health" food... Just food... Like maybe your cat?

Don't take it out on everyone, just because you are obviously, not an animal lover. What is it that you do to help other countries?? If you own a pet, you are responsable for their care!! To see one die in a painful way, that could have been prevented, is a crime in itself! You sound like one of those people that think "humans" should not go to jail for animal cruelty!! Other countries don't give unconditional love and respect, like a dog or cat or goat or pig!!!! You could always move...it's a free country;))

JUST WHEN is someone going to make the connection of human deaths-e coli and pet deaths - aminopterin to pesticides and biopesticides use in the United States instead of blameing other courtries?

This story sounds like that one I heard on TV a couple of years ago, about a dog water purifying machine. And we all know what dogs like to eat, don't we? Americans tend to do useless and redundant things over and over again, spending money that could be spent in an actually useful way.
