"CrackBerry" addicts can rest easy tonight. They don't have to go cold turkey anymore, because service for their beloved Blackberry was restored this morning by Research in Motion, the Toronto company that sells BlackBerry's and its e-mail service, says its service was crippled from Tuesday afternoon through early today. But the company still isn't sure what caused the problem, and the backlog of e-mails could clog the pipes for a while. The outages caused disruption mostly in North America, affecting RIM's 8 million users who, if you should be unfortunate to know any, seem to be obsessed with the things, insisting on staying connected with the world via cell phone and e-mails even when they're driving, dining with their spouse (or someone they should be dining with) or even sitting through their child's school play. Wonder if it had anything to do with the "TurboTax" foul up of yesterday when half the population decided to file their taxes at five minutes to midnight?
.
No, not that kind of blackberry!
