I wonder if anyone has thought about the financial consequences to the media of Actor/Senator/Actor Fred Thompson actually throwing his hat into the Presidential race? What I’m getting at here is how this could really screw up the broadcasting of any film/show/TV Series he is in. This would include the 24/7 running of Law & Order reruns which seem to show up every time you turn the TV on! Federal campaign law requires broadcasters to give all candidates equal time on the airwaves. That rule would also apply to anything he’s ever been in, such as “Law & Order,” so stations running the show would be required to give other GOP candidates the same amount of prime time television exposure. Which could add up to hours per week! So, all they could do would be to pull all the shows, which might just tick off all the Thompson fans who might decide not to vote for him, so they can continue to enjoy him on the boob tube.
