In spite of all the billions spent on sports sponsorship, I've always been convinced that a great deal of the money is wasted... Yeah, I know that the "Holy Grail" demographic of NASCAR, LIte Beer Guzzling, Lad Mag Devouring, 18 to 24 year old male consumer is obsessed with all thing sports, but which particular decal on that car flashing by at 200 MPH is supposed to have the most effect on him? This weeks news that Michelle Wie's supposed injury forced her to drop out of her "Comeback" tournament when she was in danger of facing a season long suspension for falling so far behind, made me wonder when the media's obsession with her would ever be allied with some kind of success on the tour? After all, companies such as Nike and others paid tens of millions to sign her up at the age of 15 before she had won a single tournament... And here we are two years later, and she still hasn't won anything, never making the cut in her "Onslaught" on the men's tour, and very rarely finishing in the top ten on the women's tour. Couple that with all kinds of rule bending and assorted shenanigans when she does play, and I don't think those endorsement dollars will flow forever!

You could always become the Anna Kournikova of golf... She never won anything either!
