I just don't get it... This thing about "The Minisode Network." That's the one from Sony Pictures Television, which is scheduled to begin next week. Anyone dumb enough to visit the MySpace Web site will be able to watch episodes of 15 vintage Sony series like “Charlie’s Angels,” “The Facts of Life,” “Fantasy Island” and “Who’s the Boss,” edited from their original lengths of 30 or 60 minutes each to an Internet-friendly 4 to 6 minutes. Wait a minute... "Internet friendly?" Isn't that code for "We'll cut the crap out of these half hour shows and butcher them down to a few nonsensical minutes?" Running in these "Minisodes" will be a mini form of advertising... Eight second spots for the Honda Fit. All I can say is that not only are we seeing the continual dumbing down of all kinds of communication content, it's now being done in bite sized chunks.
.
I think it's a splended idea!
