
You have to love the piece in yesterday's Washington Post about the speed reading reviewers of the final Harry Potter book... "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." Because the book was released at one minute past midnight on Saturday in the UK, to get a review into the morning editions of the papers the reviewers had to read the book and write the review in less than three hours! Rupert Murdoch's Sun tabloid, best known for bare breasted "lovelies" on page three, employed speed-reading champion Anne Jones to write its review. She took just 47 minutes and one second to read the U.S. version, and was able to write a review that concluded: "Without being too critical, the plot does seem to be a bit complicated, but I would not change a word. 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows' is a real page-turner." You can say that again. She must have read the 608 pages using asbestos gloves!
