
With all the fuss about the impending sale of The Wall Street Journal to "The Wizened of Oz," and its probable disastrous effect on the quality of that newspaper, no one has considered what will happen to it when it's new owner becomes a Chinese citizen... What was that? Yes, I actually said... When Rupert Murdoch becomes a Chinese citizen. No, I am not smoking large quantities of illegal substances... It's happened before when he gave up his Australian citizenship and became an America,. Not because he discovered some new found love for the Stars and Stripes, but because federal law prohibited the sale of too many media properties in large markets to non-citizens. As he has made no secret of his desire to make big inroads into the Chinese media market (He already owns one of China's biggest satellite companies) he's probably learning to eat with chopsticks right now. And don't forget, his second wife, who he dumped his first wife of thirty odd years for, is not only half his age... She's also Chinese!
