Did you see the piece in today's New York Times about NBC intending to pull its TV shows from Apple’s iTunes store? Currently, NBC shows like “Battlestar Galactica” and “Heroes,” which Apple sells for $1.99 an episode, account for about 40% of all iTunes video downloads. The news isn't that unexpected when you consider that NBC and News Corp. are getting ready to launch their own Web TV service. Demonstrating that more Internet TV sites don’t necessarily mean more options for consumers. Besides which, it's no secret that some of the big entertainment companies are especially unhappy with Apple right now. A few months ago, Universal Music also balked at Apple’s terms and said it didn’t intend to renew a long-term deal with iTunes. Which just goes to prove you need a good team of lawyers before you climb into bed with Steverino.
See if I care!
