OK, so Virgin America finally got off the ground today after all those storms in the New York area forced a delay and caused many of the celebrity passengers to miss the flight from JFK New York to San Francisco. So in other words, it was just like every other crappy flight long suffering passengers are forced to put up with in the US. Although from what I hear (and having experienced Virgin Atlantic a couple of times) Branson does his passengers proud in terms of on-board comfort and amenities. Having taken nearly two years to make it happen while fighting tough opposition from regulators and all the other American airlines, which seem to do nothing else but go into and out of chapter 11, I wish Sir Richard well... After all, he couldn't do any worse than Northwest and American!

Could this be the begining of a revolution in air travel?
