Being English, I was interested to read what went on behind the scenes prior to Apple's British iPhone deal. A week before the Nov. 9 release of the iPhone in the U.K., the Daily Telegraph has published a long interview with Matthew Key, the O2 UK chief executive who negotiated the deal with Steve Jobs. The story offers an interesting perspective on the iPhone, Apple, and its CEO as seen through the eyes of a English businessman. You can read the whole thing by following the link, but what struck me was how O2 disputes as “rubbish” reports that they struck what was called a “madly money-losing deal,” signing over to Cupertino as much as 40% of monthly revenues. Their response was “We don’t sign bad deals.” Yeah... But if I know anything about Steve jobs... It won't be a great deal, and it'll be quite a while before they start making money on it!
.
What do you expect... Profits?

ATT has signed 2 million new customers with the iPhone. @ $2500/ 2 yr. contract, = $5 billion. And this is after only a few months. Do you not think ATT can squeeze a few dollars of profit out of this?

Really? Do you think Matthew Key and O2 are stupid? How do you know Steve Jobs?
My guess is you have THE mental disease, the disease called "I Know". The disease that eventually kills nearly everyone. The A**hole disease. You don't know, nobody does.
