Interesting how two of high-tech's best known company founders have stepped back into the day to day control of their businesses. Michael Dell of Dell and Jerry Yang of Yahoo. Michael is doing a good job, I worked on the account at Chiat in San Francisco, meeting Michael a few times... Very smart guy. he's managed to clean house, focus the company on new growth areas such as storage virtualization and even engineered a big push into retail, once a definite no-no for the company which prides itself on its build-to-order, low-cost manufacturing model. On the other hand, Jerry is not doing well at all in his attempts to revive the company he co-founder when a college student. And if "Big Bad" Microsoft succeeds in it's take over bid, it's doubtful Jerry would be around for long. Still, he'd walk with several billion in the bank, so that would ease the pain. It certainly would for me.
Take two of these every night before retiring!
