I often wonder about people who spend too much time on communities like "Second Life." I mean when it comes to avatars online, shouldn't we be saying "Webkinz for adults"? It seems that there are either too many adults with too much time on their hands and not enough actual of a real life, or on the brighter side, we're all trying to keep our inner child alive by playing computer games just like kids. At least with Webkinz you get a cuddly stuffed animal (*something* for the physical and not just cyber dimension) with your virtual pet. Do I get a free gin & tonic or a free gizmo with my Burn Alter Ego? It's OK to play. Keeping your inner child alive is great. But, do we need big social media applications to teach us this? Somebody must think so, there's a ton of VC money pouring into it right now.
One dollar each. Seven for five!
