In the "truth is stranger than fiction" category, you have to laugh, 'cos if you think about it, you would weep, when you read that US, Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp. and Toyota Motor Corp. on Tuesday all handed in double-digit percentage declines in March U.S. sales, capping a first quarter in which the industry struggled through a brutal sales environment. "This is a very challenging environment, reflecting a seismic shift in consumer preferences," Jim Farley, chief of Ford's marketing division, said. "I'd like to be able to tell you that the worst is behind us, but I really can't give you that assurance." Oh, right, Jim, I never would have guessed that. He also said the second quarter could prove to be the year's most difficult. Ditto, Jim. What you have to understand about the American economy is that whither go-est auto sales... also go-est everything else. The US economy is in deep doodoo. In fact, it's up to it's armpits... And there's no end in sight.
Hey... Do you mind?
