With today’s news out of London that Rupert Murdoch (The Wizened of Oz) has indicated he could switch his support from the Labour Party to the Conservatives at the next general election and has urged Tony Blair to stand down at least a year before the contest, I must say I am somewhat disturbed that the ex Aussie, now US citizen, can have that much influence over the politics of just one of the many countries his media empire saturates. In an interview in News Corp-owned The Australian, the Wiz said he wanted Prime Minister Tony Blair to stand down before the election to give him and the British public time to decide between new Tory leader David Cameron and Blair's likely successor, Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown. Well, how nice of him to include the British people in making that decision! This from the media mogul who brought young, naked women on a daily basis to the newspaper reading public of Great Britain. Not to mention “Fair and unbiased” political reporting to America via the BBC (Bush Broadcasting Corporation.) Otherwise known as Fox News! It’s a given that media monopolies will always be detrimental to the democratic process. Time to get a “Rosebud” fix!![]()
I'm just a simple newspaper man. I have no interest in politics... Yeah, right!
