OK... Tomorrow is the big day... It's Super Bowl... Which I think is some kind of football game played only by American teams that upon winning, declare themselves to be "World Champions!" Which I guess is no different from the American baseball team that wins the "World Series" even though it's limited to American teams. Anyway, I digress... Tomorrow is Super Adfest. This is when we see the spots agencies have persuaded their clients to run at $2.7 million per pop for 30 seconds... Not counting sky high production costs, of course. This is when agencies get to strut their stuff, show their wares, create the illusion that they really know what they are doing... The problem is that on average thirty percent of the spots are good, thirty percent are, bearable, and thirty percent are sheer unadulterated crap. Unfortunately, the crap percentage seems to get bigger every year. I honestly don't know why clients keep drinking the Kool-Aid.
Hold your nose and swallow!
