Sweaty old Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft still considers its takeover offer for Yahoo, currently valued at about $40.9 billion, to be reasonable despite Yahoo's rejection of the bid. "We still think the deal makes sense with the price and structure that we announced and we hope that over time that becomes a reality and we're working toward that," he said at a news conference Monday. Mmmm! You just know it has to happen, in spite of all the rumors about the "Wizened of Oz's" News Corp considering making some kind of counter offer. But everything other than the continuing Microsoft activity seems to have gone quiet in the last couple of weeks. When you consider the state of the economy and how Google's stock has been hammered in the last few days as the shine has gone off their business, you have to wonder if Yahoo might be looking at the best offer they can expect for some time.

Guess what Jerry might wake up next to one morning?
